So, I wanted to do a story of a culture that is a strong root of my Louisiana Family. I've learned a lot about some parts of my heritage and cultural genes. I've always felt a little diverse from that side of my family due to living in California my whole life. I've always found myself curious then most. Having a Louisiana native Grandmother taught me the culture, my family background, the lifestyle, and of course the recipes from home. Creole is what the French Settlers named people that were born in Louisiana from the mother country or from somewhere else. Manly it applied to the black slaves and the Native Americans who were born in Louisiana. The first Creole was to believed to die in 1745 as on records, He appeared to be in a slave trial in New Orleans. Which is s fascinating to me.
Creole Food is a distinguishing feature in many creole homes. Many Creole dishes are Jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp creole, shrimp etouffee, oxtail soup, banana froster, beignets, banana pudding, red beans, oysters bienville and more. A mean can you even imagine coming home to that? Creole's are mostly Roman Catholicism , Family Orientated, Respectful, Warming, traditional people. That's why i am so proud to have come from a family with creole backgrounds. I will continue to lean more so i can teach my knowledge to others.
